Every year, Izaak Walton League chapters across the country present the Judge John W. Tobin Award to one of their members. To receive a Tobin Award is a singular and distinct honor because it represents a chapter’s acknowledgment of a member whose outstanding volunteer contributions to the chapter have made a difference
Three Rivers Chapter Tobin Award Winner for 2024 is Dave Busch. He received this honor for his countless hours of maintaining our grounds with mowing, weed control and whatever pops up during the year. In 2024, Dave attended the training required to become a certified trainer for Hunters Education and Pistol Education. Thank you, Dave, for all you do!!!

The 2024 Pheasants have all been released. 674 hens have been released in the surrounding area. A huge thank you to Dennis Oelmann for the uncountable hours and miles put into raising these birds from 1 day old to 7 weeks old. Thank you to all who purchased and released these pheasants to help restore the pheasant population.
On Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Izaak Walton Three Rivers Chapter sponsored the Cabin Camper Girl Scout Badge for 15 Daisies and Brownies from Troops 1252, 1396, 3602 and 3419. The events included learning about poisonous plants, the best items to take camping and pitching a tent. They learned how to build a fire and cooked a foil dinner consisting of hamburger, potatoes and vegetables of their choice for lunch. It was topped off with S’mores.
This is the third year the Three Rivers Chapter has sponsored a Girl Scout Badge. We want to shout out a special thank you to Crawdaddy’s for lending us the tents and Hy-Vee for providing the S’more fixings. Without you, the cost would be difficult for the Girl Scouts and The Three Rivers Chapter to meet.
